SPAIN COLLECTS RECORD AMOUNT OF TAXES

Spain's tax administration collected a record amount of almost 300 billion euros in 2024, thanks in part to higher wages, more people in work and stricter action against fraud. Revenues from payroll taxes, VAT and excise duties rose sharply. Minister Montero calls the revenues crucial for social spending, although economists warn that inflation plays a big role.
