SECOND OCCUPACION LICENCE
LSO
The second occupancy license is a municipal document confirming that a property is still suitable for living. It is required for property sales rentals after major renovations or when the previous license is no longer valid. It is needed to activate water electricity and gas and is often requested by notaries and rental authorities. The cost usually ranges from one hundred to two hundred fifty euros depending on the municipality and the technical report prepared by an architect or engineer. The home must meet conditions such as minimum size proper ventilation structural safety and functioning installations. The application requires a technical report and property documents after which the municipality issues the license. Without this document selling renting or activating utilities can become difficult or cause delays.
