According to Oficemen, cement consumption rose by 18.5% in October 2025 to nearly 1.7 million tonnes.
Year-to-date growth stands at 10.9%, reflecting a strong recovery in construction activity. Over the last twelve months, consumption exceeded 16.2 million tonnes, up 10.4%.
Exports reduced their decline to –7.4% in the first ten months, while imports grew by 28%. The industry stresses the need for mechanisms to protect European producers from imports originating in countries with looser environmental regulations.
