January 30th marks World Croissant Day. In Spain, the “cruasán” is a breakfast favourite, usually enjoyed with a café con leche. Despite its French reputation, the croissant actually originated in Austria. Introduced to Paris in the 19th century, it quickly spread across Europe and became a beloved part of Spanish breakfast culture.
