Description
La Nucía is a prosperous municipality in the Alicante province which is beautifully situated in a sheltered valley, only a few kilometers away from the busy coastline of the Costa Blanca North.
The history of the village finds its origin in the Moorish era under the name "Noziha", which means something like "delightful", and later developed as a strategic military outpost. The climate is Mediterranean and very pleasant, whereby the surrounding mountains provide a stable temperature that is on average slightly cooler than directly on the coast.
The main attractions are the picturesque old center with its whitewashed houses and the award-winning sports city "Camilo Cano", which is internationally known for its world-class facilities. The local gastronomy is rich in tradition and focuses on hearty mountain meals such as "Putxero amb Pilotes", while modern restaurants on the connecting road to Benidorm offer a wide range of international cuisines. Although La Nucía does not have its own golf course, many golfers live there because of its central location relative to top courses such as Villaitana Golf and the exclusive greens of Altea.
The residents form a cosmopolitan community of proud Spaniards and many European residents who have consciously chosen the peace and high quality of life of this region. The surroundings are characterized by extensive pine forests and impressive mountain peaks, with the nearby waterfalls of Fonts de l'Algar as a natural highlight in the immediate vicinity. Living in La Nucía offers numerous advantages, including an excellent infrastructure, a safe living environment for families, and the luxury of a quiet village life with all urban conveniences within reach.
